Form groups of six students each in the class. Split each group into two and ask both of these sub-groups to visit a few retail stores around their vicinity.

a Record the performance of each of these stores in terms of revenue, unit sales, employee satisfaction levels, store manager rating, store ambience rating, and other metrics as pre-discussed among the group members.

(You might need to use a survey to measure satisfaction, manager rating, and ambience rating from employees of each store).

b Now each of the sub-groups should develop a predictive model based on its findings, with store performance (in revenue or sales) as the dependent variable and all others as independent variables. Now discuss the problems encountered in recording the observations. How difficult or easy it was to convince the employees to share data? Was there ambiguity in terms used in conversations or the survey? List these terms and how they were resolved.

c Now summarise the necessity of common language while developing a model.
