Can the traditional news media ever be truly

“liberal,” given their corporate ownership?

Doesn’t the now widely accepted view that the media failed the country in the run-up to the invasion of Iraq prove that they are anything but liberal? Why or why not? What about the media’s failure to detect the looming financial crisis that nearly brought down the global economy? Wouldn’t a media with an anti-corporate bias—that is, a liberal media—been more vigilant?
