(f) Smith and Jones The second set of regulations governs the partnership's size. Under the Companies Act, an ordinary business partnership may not have more than twenty members. There are exceptions for certain types of professional partnerships such as solicitors, stockbrokers, accountants and estate agents, which have been given exemptions by the Department of Trade and Industry and can have as many partners as they wish.
