This chapter discusses a number of methods in the field of supplier assessment. In addition to objective and quantitative methods, such assessments can also be made in a more subjective manner. The objective of supplier assessment is to determine the extent to which a particular supplier will be able to meet his delivery obligations, both now and in the future. Name a few issues which may indicate that a supplier's performance is deteriorating, and which can be observed by the buyer during a visit to the supplier.
