How has the Old Salty Dog adapted to the changing environment over the years?

The Old Salty Dog opened in 1986 at the original location of Siesta Key Village, in Sarasota, Florida.
The owners, Philip Needs and Judy Fryer, created a concept that combined traditional English fare from their heritage with casual Florida cuisine. In 1990, a second location was opened on City Island, Florida, which serves as a casual and family-oriented waterfront restaurant featuring an array of surfn-
turf themed items. The City Island location opened as a snack bar with a very limited menu featuring burgers, sandwiches, fish-n-chips, and the famous quarter pound hot dog dipped in batter and fried to a golden brown, which coined the name “Salty Dog.” The restaurant has since grown immensely and now offers a much wider variety of items, including the steamer and raw bar, Hawaiian-themed Maui Wow-Wee Burger, and Smoked Salmon BLT, along with an array of entrees.
