The entrepreneurial stage of an organization’s life cycle is an exciting time. But while the founders are deciding how they will enter new markets and what products they will offer, do they have any obligation to consider the general public’s interests in these decisions? In this chapter, we suggested that managers can adopt a coercive style to overcome resistance to change when it is based on self-interest. Do managers have any responsibility to people whose resistance is based on self-interest? Explain.
