What are team leaders’ responsibilities with regard to political processes within the organization?

That is, when other individuals outside the team promote their own self-interests at the expense of the organization, especially when these actions have negative effects on the team’s productivity, what should team leaders do? How can they best fulfi ll these responsibilities to the team and to the organization?
