Attend a gathering of people from a culture different from yours. It might be a meeting at a Jewish temple if you’re Christian, an African American church if you are white, or a meeting of Asian students if you are Western. Observe nonverbal behaviors of the people there: How do they greet one another? How much eye contact accompanies interaction? How close to one another do people sit?
