Recent interest in organizational transformation has emphasized the ‘cascades’ of change in other attributes and units that may be set off by an initial transformation (Hannan et al., 2003). Using the basic dimensions of goals, boundaries, and activities, develop a set of empirical hypotheses that explain when (and how) transformation in one dimension is likely to affect the others.
