3.3 FINANCIAL INSTITUTION SCORE CARD Worksheet 3.3 will help you evaluate financial institutions and identify which one is the best fit for you. (LO 3-3)

1. In the Priority Rank Column (the pink squares), rank the listed banking services in order of importance to you, with 1 being the most important and 10 being the least important.

2. Select up to three financial institutions in your community to evaluate. Try to include a commercial bank, a savings institution, and a credit union in your analysis.

3. Evaluate the financial institutions with respect to the 10 services/products listed on the worksheet. For each service/

product item, rank the financial institutions from 1 to 3, with 1 being the best. Enter the rank in the FI’s Rank squares (yellow).

4. Score each FI service/product comparative ranking by multiplying Priority and Rank. (For each row, Priority Rank ×

FI Rank = FI Score.)

5. Total each of the FI Score columns (green). The financial institution with the lowest score is the one whose products and service offerings best fit your needs.
