If you have some modeling clay available, try building a boat from the clay.
a. Does the clay sink when it is rolled into a ball? What does this indicate about the density of the clay?
b. Is a flatboat more effective than a canoe in carrying the maximum load of steel washers or other weights? Try them both. What are the problems with each?
