Drental Ltd operates a chain of household goods retail stores in various towns and cities.

Accounting for each shop is carried out at Head Office but the relevant shop manager is responsible for petty cash held in each location. The client's notes on the petty cash system are as follows.

1. Petty cash is kept in a lockable tin in the manager's desk.

2. Petty cash levels are maintained at \($1000\) at each store.

3. The monthly spend on petty cash ranges from \($400\) to \($1100\) .

4. Petty cash transactions range from just a few dollars to several hundred dollars.

5. A petty cash book is maintained by one of the assistants in each shop and each item of expenditure is supported by a receipt and a petty cash voucher signed by the person who spent the money.

6. When more cash is needed a request is sent to Head Office, signed by the store manager, the amount requested will be sufficient cash to bring the balance back up to \($1000\).

7. The cheques are raised by the accountant at Head Office and are signed by two of the normal bank authorities.
