The pump to be used is an inline pump. The particular pump selected has a required NPSH of 7 ft. Atmospheric pressure is 1 atm.

a. Determine the maximum height above the water surface that the pump can be installed to prevent cavitation.

b. Investigate the effect of the water temperature by plotting the maximum pump height as a function of the water temperature for 40°F ≤ T ≤ 140°F.
