In the contemporary age, building communities of practice and partnership is essential to the future of health care; therefore it is:

a. The requirements of each discipline to direct their own work and define their own parameters in advancing quality health care.

b. The obligation of individual practitioners to demonstrate their specific and unique contribution to the aggregate contribution of all disciplines in advancing health care.

c. The obligation of all disciplines to work together to define one set of practices with which they will all engage to advance the health of the community.

d. The responsibility of uses of healthcare services to more fully participate in directing healthcare practices in ways that best meet their own needs.
