Leaders should avoid:

a. Making judgments about themselves or others, and should not seek out or pay attention to the judgments of others.

b. Self-evaluation and self-criticism leading to self-doubt and role uncertainty.

c. Negative people who can create an environment of failure and uncertainty.

d. Too much engagement of others that leads to familiarity and disrespect of the leader role and role ambiguity with the staff.
