Next time you are able to eavesdrop on a conversation, notice how the give-and-take among participants follows

(or does not follow) the given–new contract. Also, notice how people change topics and how that affects the flow of the conversation. Finally, see if you can find any evidence of syntactic priming. One way to “eavesdrop” is to be part of a conversation that includes at least two other people. But don’t forget to say something every so often! LO1
