4. In many lab experiments, such as Fehr and Gächter’s (2002) study of altruistic punishment, the experimenters don’t let the subjects communicate with each other in any way. Sometimes the experimenters even go to great lengths to ensure that no pair of subjects interacts more than once. These conditions are clearly unrealistic, and would never occur in any real workplace team.

Why, then, do the experimenters impose them? Do you think that imposing these conditions is a good idea?
