8. What's Wrong with This Way of Thinking?

"Higher wages help everybody. The worker is helped because he can now purchase more of the things he needs. Business is helped because the increase in the worker's purchasing power will increase the demand for products. The taxpayer is helped because the worker will now pay more taxes. Union activities and legislation increasing the wages of workers will promote economic progress."
