Projects. What projects will serve the community? All community activities, whether projects or business ventures, should be based on the same goals, objectives, and framework. Local economic development projects should be selected for their consistency with the development goals of the community and the potential benefits to the target community, whether in terms of jobs, skills training, or the provision of goods and other services. The local community organization must share a vision of the important activities and resources that will be needed to develop the activities. The activities and resources should be documented in a formal list of investment criteria that can be reviewed once the final business plan is prepared. LO.1
