How will you communicate your vision of the Center to the general public on a local and/or national and/or international level?
Be specific yet imaginative. Remember: Innovation= Creativity + Usefulness. Human Resources and Education Center Imagine the following scenario for the midterm and final exam: The mission of St. Joseph’s College Human Resources and Education Center would be three-fold:
1. To promote a collective vision of human resources education.
2. To educate the public regarding human sources on a local, national and international level.
3. To provide the transfer of knowledge needed for effective, innovative and ethical human resources practices and policy development. The vision of the Center would be to empower Human Resources Recruiters, Human Resources Managers, aspiring Human Resources Managers, and the general public with knowledge of best practices and issues related to human resources. This will be done through forums, brainstorming, scenario planning, certificate programs, and webinars, as well as a wide gamut of course offerings related to human resources for managers and practitioners of human resources within a variety of organizations. These courses will be both on ground and online. In doing so, the Center will serve as a hub for educating the general public in the following fields: Job analysis and job design. Recruitment and selection. Training. Compensation and benefits. Legal issues Performance appraisal issues. Virtual employment. Team building. The only prerequisite needed for inclusion in the Center’s activities is to be a student, alumni or approved affiliate of St. Joseph’s College. The following are concluding recommendations for the proposed Center:
1) The Center should have a virtual presence including a website and offerings of related online coursework.
2) The Center should be open to a “Collegiate Alliance” with other post secondary institutions. One of the purposes of this alliance is to increase synergies and potentially enhance enrollment in related online programs at St. Joseph’s College.
3) The Center should hold its own conference in 2018 to further promote its development. I would like to thank Ms. Wanda Nardone for allowing me to leverage her considerable expertise and intellectual contributions to this collective vision.
