Pop or pop culture reuses actual parts of an older popular culture artifact in a way that is key to the narrative, theme, character development, or some such basic aspect (in a significant manner). An artifact can be a song, a TV show, a film---check with me if you are not sure the earlier artifact must be reused relatively substantially in the newer one give a brief explanation of what both artifacts is, state how the older artifact was incorporated into the new one.
