0 1 Q. No. 1. "Paneer Soda a.k.a Goli Soda" is a popular aerated soft drink in Tamil Nadu, India. It is manufactured and marketed by Anandi Sparkling Water Limited. (ASWL), which has offices and bottling plants at several locations in Tamil Nadu. It is a sweety fizzy rose- scented drink, which is served chilled during the summers. This drink is filled in a green-tinged bottle. To open the bottle, one has to tactfully release the "marble" in the neck of the bottle. In recent time, the managing director of the ASPL was annoyed with the significant number of customer complaints about the quantity of the "Paneer Soda" filled in each bottle. Hence, she directed the quality department to check the same. They found that the following parameters: % of gas added (which currently is at 1% of the volume of the bottle); the pressure during filling (which is maintained at 1.75kg/cm), and the number of bottles (which is about 200 bottles per minute) is affecting the consistency in maintaining the quantity of paneer soda. As part of process Treatment Deviation in filling improvement, they want to increase the % of gas height in mm added to 2% of the volume of the bottle, pressure -3 -1 during filling to be increased to 2 kg/cm and also the speed of the filling to be 210 bottles per minute. -1 They conducted these experiments and found the 2 following deviation in the filled quantity. The amount ab -1 of soda filled with reference to top-line marked in the 2 bottle is measured as filling height. If the amount of bc soda filled is exactly matching with the reference line abc 6 5 in the bottle, then it is marked as "0". The obtained results are shown in the table below. a. List down the factors and the response variable. b. What type of design of experiments (the notation) has to be used? Why? C. Draw the graphical representation of the data presented. d. Represent the above data in the form of "codes (i.e., +,-) for each factor and interaction effects, responses, and show them in the form of a Table. e. Calculate the main effects and interaction effects. f. Using the contrasts, calculate the sum of squares and mean square of all the effects, errors, F-statistic, etc. and present the same in the form of a Table. g. Based on the obtained results from Minitab, at the 5% level of significance, which effects are significant? Interpret your inferences h. Calculate the R' and adjusted R' values Another researcher commented that the filling quantity may also vary with the three bottling machines that are used. If so, what would happen in the design that you have considered till now? (2 + 2 + 2 + 5 + 7 + 20 + 2 + 2 + 2 = 44M) a b 0 3 0 ac 1 i. 0 1 Q. No. 1.
