Think about an important ongoing relationship in your life, and consider the possible meta-messages you may be sending that affect the quality of this relationship. What are some of the specific ways you may be communicating meta-messages about trust, respect, caring, liking, and power/superiority, for better and for worse? How might you change what you say and do to send more positive meta-messages? How will these specific changes provide more positive inputs into the social exchange in terms of trust, respect (etc)? 4. Reviewing the various "types of interpretive frames," what are some of the common interpretive frames or mental models you use to make sense of people and social situations? Identify two or three important mental models you employ, and explain how they shape your perceptions, memories, and inferences of others in meaningful ways. For instance, you could consider your ingroup/outgroup classifications and how they affect your interactions with others.
