1. A travel agent reviewed 33 domestic flights in the Southwest to determine if there was a relationship between the distance travelled and the ticket price. a) Prepare two scatter plots from this data, one showing Distance as the independent variable and one showing distance as the dependent variable Properly format (trend line with equation, modify equation with variable names rather than x & y, axes labels, etc.) these scatterplots and paste them into the Word document with Figure numbers. b) Identify which scatterplot correctly represents the relationship between distance and price. Write an interpretation that includes a discussion of model fit, as well as an interpretation of the coefficients in the regression equation. c) Create an ANOVA table for the relationship between distance and price that you selected in (b) (using Excel's Regression procedure), format it to show no more than 3 decimal places and remove duplicate columns. Copy and paste it into the Word document. d) Perform a residual analysis on your selected model. You should include a histogram of the residuals and plot of the residuals as a function of the independent variable (X). Paste these charts into the Word document and provide an interpretation of each chart including which assumption of a linear model you are testing. Be sure to review the video provided to you on how to complete this analysis. e) Predict the price if the distance of the trip was 750 miles. Show how you calculated this value, not just the final value.
