1. An ethylene glycol/water mixture with a concentration of 80/20wt% respectively, is to be injected to a hydrocarbon gas stream to prevent hydrate formation. The mixture has an average molecular weight of 62.1 The wet gas stream enters the dehydration unit at a flowrate of 1,250,000 Sm/d and process conditions of 15,000kPaa and 45C. The molecular weight of the gas is 17.45 and it is sweet. Hydrate formation must be prevented when the gas is cooled down to 45C. Calculate the required EG mixture injection rate (kg/h) assuming the final water content in the gas to be negligible and the total EG to remain in the liquid phase. 50% design margin is required for the injection rate.
