(1) Carbaryl was found in Shin-san Reservoir. The depth of mixing layer is 8 m in the reservoir. The DOC concentration in the water is 2 mg/L and its bean attenuation coefficient is the same as that of Kleine Enne Lake (Fig. 24.12). By assuming that the intensity of the average daily solar radiation at the surface W (24 h, ) in Taiwan in a midsummer day is just 1.1 times of that at 47.5 N Latitude (Table 24.5) please calculate the 24-hour average total specific light absorption rate kat of Carbaryl in the well-mixed epilimnion of Shin-san Reservoir.

(2) The reservoir water is discharged into Keelung River whose water is shallow. By assuming that average D = 1.1 all over the light wave length range, please calculate the near-surface total specific light absorption rate ka0 for Carbaryl in Keelung River in a midsummer day.

(3) If the photo-induced degradation rate coefficient (kp) of Carbaryl in Keelung River is 0.03 day-1, estimate the quantum yield.

Note: Please find the absorption spectrum of Carbaryl from literature. You may have to digitize the picture of spectrum by yourself.
