3. Respondent - Who is the respondent in this case?

4. Year - What year was the judgement made?

5. Court - In which court was this matter heard?

6. Judges - Who were the presiding judges in this case?

7. Country - What country was this case heard in?

8. Area of law - what was the area of law this case addressed? For example, was it contract, property, a criminal matter?

9. Short abstract - provide a short abstract that allows the reader to understand the gist of the case before they have read it in detail. A reader should, ideally, be able to read no further and still understand what the case is about. Otherwise known as an "executive summary".

10. Detailed description of the facts - What are the facts of the case? Who did what, what happened and then what followed.

11. The Issue - Detailed description of the issue being decided.

12. The decision - What was ultimately decided in the case?

13. The Ratio Decidendi - A detailed outline the judge's reasons for making their decision.

14. A detailed analysis and discussion of the case - This is where you discuss the case and critically evaluate the matter. Did the judge get it right? If so, how? If not why not? How did this case change the law and what were the aspects of the ratio decidendi that was responsible for this change?
