1. Elsa Kingsley founder of Mcphee Distillers Elsa Kingsley was born in Islay located in Scotland which is the heart of Scotch whisky, she had a dream of working in the whisky distillery industry. Elsa Kingsley started her life in the industry of whisky when she was sixteen as a warehouse worker for a distillery. After 35 years in this industry, she successfully became the master distiller of the Piercy Distillery. She was awarded many years at the Piercy Distillery. Since Kingsley was responsible for the strict quality standard of every drop of the whisky, she understood deeply the unique features of all products from the distilleries in Scotland. However, she had a lot of creativity that was never allowed due to the policies of the Piercy Distillery. Then, Kingsley recognized the rapid growth of the market of American bourbon whiskey and observed it for many years. She considered it as a challenge for Scottish whisky. In 2013, Kinsley resigned from the post of master distiller of Piercy Distillery and moved to Vancouver Island, British Columbia. After being familiar with the environment, she wanted to produce American whisky following the procedures of Scottish whisky here. Therefore, she found a distillery named "Mcphee Distiller" in memory of her grandfather to practice her dream. 2. Mcphee Distillers In 2014, Elsa Kingsley partnered with her previous employer, Piercy Distillery, to establish a new distillery, Mcphee Distillery on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. As other whisky producers, she capitalized much on the growing demand in the Asia-Pacific region in particular.
