Project Title: Building a space resources system 2. What are you supposed to write? a. The capability of utilizing space resources is critical to human beings to spread beyond Earth. Space resources can generate huge technical and economic benefits. Analyse and describe such benefits. b. Describe a roadmap to utilize space resources in the solar system including but not limited to: i. Reusable space transportation system ii. Space stations in low Earth orbit or at the gravitationally stable Lagrange points iii. Lunar and Mars stations iv. Mining and processing of space resources v. Low-cost resources return 3. What would an outstanding script look like? You should be able to demonstrate, in the report, a thorough understanding of all aspects described above and be able to produce a report with sound analysis that will address the major challenges of building a space resources system. Structure of essay The second draft and the final draft of the written assignment should be presented in a report format. 2 What should you include in Drafts 1 and 2? Draft 1 Complete the plan template (included with the Draft 1 cover page) to note down some brainstormed ideas, initial sources (minimum of 3), and an outline of your report. Draft 2 (1500 words) Introduction Part 1: Analysis of the technical and economic benefits generated by space resources Part 2: Roadmap to obtain and utilize space resources i) Short-term plan ii) Middle-term plan iii) Long-term plan Conclusion Include at least three references in Draft 2. Students should include all the required sections in the final draft submission, with a minimum of five references. References / Formatting style - APA referencing style - Acceptable sources: Primarily the sources listed in the Reading List and References section of the Subject Description Form and other reports published by such aviation related organisations, or their affiliated associations, as ICAO, IATA, Boeing, Airbus, Engine Manufacturers like Rolls Royce, Pratt and Witney, General Electric etc. Other acceptable sources include academic books and journal articles. - A minimum of 3 references should be included in your first draft. A minimum of 3 references should be included in your second draft. A minimum of 5 references should be included in your final report. - Sources in languages other than English are acceptable, but the relevant contents need to be translated into English. At least one of your sources should be in English. - Headings should be used.
