1. Given the following foods; 1. Chocolate 2. Biscuit 3. Ice-cream, you are required to choose only ONE from the above mentioned to establish your own food factory. Note that the main product of your company is based on the above food that you have chosen.
2. Simultaneously, you have to create ONE PROTOTYPE that shall represent the layout of your food factory. Your prototype should be created using paper or recycle paper. For this part, you will be awarded creativity marks.
3. In addition to this, you have to be meticulous in ensuring that your factorys layout including equipment, machinery, space, material, people and etcetera is following the best practices or standard according to the policies or rules that have been set up by Malaysians government and authority bodies.
4. In accordance to the observation you have made during factory visit, you may adopt / adapt the operation practices of that particular factory into your own factorys layout and operation.
5. Upon completion the above task, you should document the whole process of factorys layout through written report. The layout of your factory should cover the following aspects:
i) Which type of layout will be adopted in your factory?
ii) Based on your answer in (5)(i) why it is employed as the key decision that determine the long-run efficiency of operation in your factory?
