. What are the main features of each? . What is the content you would expect to nd in an IT strategic plan? Imagine you have an organisation's IT strategic plan in front of you. What are the key areas/themes which you might expect this plan to cover? Do you think these themes will apply broadly across most organisations, or do you think they will be unique and specic to each organisation? . What is the nature and extent of the relationship between IT strategic planning and other forms of organisational strategic planning? Organisations carry out all sorts of planning corporate plans/business plans/marketing plans/etc. Is IT strategic planning something which can be done independently of other forms of organisational planning, or does it overlap in some way with other plans? If the latter, what is the relationship between IT plans and other plans; for example, does IT planning lead or give direction to other forms of organisational planning or does it follow and take its direction from them? . Who should do IT strategic planning? Is it a technical task which should be managed by IT experts, a systems/application task which should be managed by IS experts, a business task which should be managed by the organisation's business units, or a senior management task which should be managed by the senior executives?
