1. I too believe that crime happens in more than the poverty stricken habitats. Crime is a problem across every economic class. Crimes within the wealthier class are not necessarily reported as deviant crimes because they often don't directly hurt people. They may not receive harsh punishments like the lower class criminals because they have money to hire top notch lawyers to get them a lower punishment or no punishment at all. Just because someone lives in poverty doesn't mean they are any less than those who have money.

2. Social Control Theory says people commit crime when the process binding them to society are weakened or broke it explains onset of crime;can apply to both lower and middle classes,has been empirically tested. According to Navnit (2023) it also states social control theory says the need for belonging and attachment to others is fundamental, influencing many behavioral, emotional, and cognitive processes. Numerous studies highlight the association between attachments and positive youth outcomes. Early sociologists argued that the various forms of social deviance, including criminal behavior, emerge when the connections between individuals and the larger society are weak. I believe Social Control Theory best explains crime and why criminals do what they do I believe when society and the government are weak and lax on the laws crime rises because the care for the community and the people in it go down when society becomes weak and laws are to lax followed by more restrictions on law enforcement to up hold and maintain law and order within the community.

3. What I think more accurately explains crime is Strain theory. Strain theory holds that crime is a function of the conflict between the goals people have and mean they can use to obtain them legally (Seigal, 2018). Strain theory explains crime accurately for mu understanding lower class families and individuals have a hard time to achieve higher paying job as middle class and upper-class families. Strain theory understands the anger and frustration as lower-class families and individuals want to achieve their goals. When families and individuals cannot achieve their goals sometimes criminal act comes in as an alternate way to get the things they need and want. Criminal act such as theft, violence, or drug trafficking. When people are strain sometimes, they will react differently than their normal selves. Strain theory is a social factor that lack of income or lack of quality education, drivees individuals to commit crime this stressor bring negative emotions.

5. Good post.I agree with you, the prevalence of single-parent households, and job shortages in a community can contribute to a child turning in the direction of crime. As mentioned by you, single-parent households often lack the necessary guidance and supervision a child would require which helps drive them to engage in criminal activities, which is so true.Society needs to pay more attention to these internal and external factors affecting our youths of today.It is so mind-blowing that in today's age, these significant people in society can't get it right, as this has been a recurring problem.The social disorganization theory basically highlights that when a society fails to provide residents with proper human relations and development (basic essential services) in their area, the area often becomes crime-ridden by delinquent youths or a child who has no choice but to attach themselves to these delinquent youths and then several neighborhoods want to flee the area at every chance they get.As a society, we need to focus more on environmental conditions in deplorable communities and neighborhoods that lack the bare essential services to break this cycle (Siegel, 2018).

6. According to social disorganization theory there are a few factors that help contribute to crime. They are poverty, social disorganization, breakdown of traditional values, criminal areas, cultural transmission, and criminal careers (Siegel, 2018). When social life has been frayed and torn, residents don't necessarily get their basic needs met. Therefore, they look for ways to help and unfortunately some look to crime as they see others making a living off criminal activity. Younger generations see that deviant behavior can possibly bring in money, so they adopt that lifestyle to have some of their basic needs met. Broken windows and boarded up houses are a propensity to attract criminal behavior.

This processed can be corrected by replacing and/or upgrading broken down homes around the neighborhood. Maintain public order by getting involved, Residents can form neighborhood groups and pull together to lend assistance when others need it (Siegel, 2018). Supervising children is a big way to cut down on crime. The biggest way to combat crime is to get involved and don.t be scared. If residents just sit back and watch crime happen, then it will overtake your neighborhood.
