The reasons We're all aware that many of our children are suffering from being overweight and some even suffer from obesity at a young age, but even children who have no weight issues require physical activity to sustain optimal health. This modern playground will be the best place for children to practice emerging physical skills, to experience the pure joy of movement, and to burn the more calories. Research has even shown that children who are physically active in school are more likely to be physically active at home. Moreover, children who don't have the opportunity to be active during the school day don't usually compensate during after-school hours. Also The outside light stimulates the pineal gland, the part of the brain that helps regulate our biological clock, is vital to the immune system, and simply makes us feel better. Outside light also triggers the synthesis of Vitamin D and a number of studies have demonstrated that it increases academic learning and productivity. Project constraints are things that will cause the project to fail. Make sure to review this section in the textbook. Product Constraints Some of the Products Constraints that we have to work on are the following: Adaptability- We have to make sure the products that we use adapt to everyone's needs Reliability- It needs to be reliable and safe Scalability- Leave options open and make sure we are able to change if needed Security- Make Wonderland as secured as possible Usability- Make sure it is not only going to be fun, but also able to be used safely Maintainability- Make sure we budget the project accordingly. The project deliverables should be things delivered to the customer once the project is completed. For example, the playground equipment, the physical playground. Project Deliverables Inspection: playgrounds will be inspected to make sure the location is suitable for management Layout: Make any additional changes if needed, from original lay out. Proposal: Make an official proposal for project redevelopment, with cost, and maintenance Contractors Offers: review all offers, and blue prints. Submit approved blueprints Development of Foundation: redeveloped old existing playgrounds with safety equipment, landscaping, organizer, and utility design Policies: Guarantee that all certifications, and permits are in order Employment: establish human resources, and hire employees for the project Budget: projected cash flow, for cost labor, and equipment Purchase: purchase of material, and equipment for delivery time, and dates. Advertisement: publicize the project redevelopment, and collect fund, with donation from fund raisers. Final Inspection: review all documents and blueprints for final submission. Project constraints are things/activities that will prevent the project from being successful. Project Constraints Constraints are very important in the building of this playground. We need to make sure we have them implemented and follow them. The Projects Constraints are almost like a rule book, if we follow it we are more than likely going to have less obstacles in our way, and more of a success in building the Playground. 1st: Constraint- Finish in a timely manner stay in schedule 2nd: Constraint will be: Make sure we have the permits before we start building 3rd: Figure out a place to build in a child environment 4th: Budgeting accordingly is very important it could hold us back if we go over the budget limit. 5th: Making sure the playground is planned out safely so that no zoning violations happen. 6th: Constraint: We would want to make sure the playground is built safely. 7th: Constraint: Leave room in the budget in case something else presents itself. Not just budget for the labor and material but leave money in case something happens to go wrong. 8th: Constraint: We have to make sure everything we build is usable and adaptable to everyone that wants to use the park. For example, if we are going to make swings; make swings for toddlers and also older children. 9th: Constraint: Make sure the name we use is not patent to another business or organization to avoid potential legal problems. 10th: Constraint: Make sure we leave option open almost like plan A and Plan B, in the event plan A does not work we will be able to go to plan B without any further issues. Body/Content 50 A project plan cannot be considered complete until the resources have been assigned (including budget and cost estimate). This week, you will assign the resources required to work on your project to your scheduled tasks. In addition, you will add the cost of the resources per hour and any direct or indirect cost required for project contracts, materials, or supplies. You will submit a two-part summary report (business professional format) of your project budget and resources, which includes the following: Part 1: Project Budget (Cost Management) 8 out of 20 points 1 2 3 4 Explain your approach to estimating the project cost (e.g., top down, bottom up, etc.) and why that method was chosen. Create a table that shows the original budgeted cost (from the charter) and the actual budgeted cost (side by side). Include line items for labor, materials, contract, equipment, travel cost, and so on. Compare the budget from the charter to the final budget and explain any variances that occurred from your original budgeted cost in the project charter and the current project cost (include your original estimated cost for the project). Did you assign enough people to the project? Were there any resources over-allocated? What approach will you take to fix any allocation problems? Develop a plan to manage your project team and define how you will motivate your team and how you will handle team conflicts. However, the submission did not address critical areas of the assignment. The project cost approach was not explained either using a "top-down" or "bottom-up" method in calculating the cost. There was side by side table to compare the initial project cost with the actual cost for comparison purposes. No discussion of a contingency plan in the submission either. The Microsoft project file was not included in the submission. Part 2 of the assignment, limited information was provided in this section to address the key questions such as answering questions about the resource assignment and how the team will be motivated. Lastly, the project structure was not addressed. I recommend that the team review the submission before submitting the assignment to the dropbox in the future. Make sure to address the concerns before submitting the final project in week 8
