1) Researchers are interested in what factors are most strongly related to success in graduate school. They sampled 224 graduate school admissions at a local university. Admissions criteria including undergraduate overall average percent grade, scores on the math subtest of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE), and scores on the verbal subtest of the GRE were each considered. All variables were measured as continuous scores. These researchers wanted to know how well each admissions criterion was related with graduate school success which was measured by cumulative GPA (on 4-point scale) in grad school.
