1. Select a manufacturing company of your choice and complete the following: a. State and describe the company's core competency (or competencies). Feel free to copy/paste images or diagrams as needed. Refer to week 2's lecture for what "core competency" is. b. Describe and elaborate on the company's value-position(s). Refer to week 2's lecture for what "value-positions" are. Some companies compete using a strategy that focuses on more than one (1) value-position, and that's OK. Describe them. c. Provide 2 to 3 examples of how your chosen company executes on their value-position. For example, what strategies does the company use to connect with, retain, and/or support their customers? What customer-facing systems do they provide? What internal processes, disciplines, cultures, or practices does the company employ that align and support their valueposition? d. What production process type does your chosen company use as their main transformation process? See lecture material for the various production process types discussed in class.
