1) Teicher et al., (2016) and DeBellis & Zisk (2014) described different neurological impacts of early life stress and trauma; as psychology students, had you been aware of any of this before? What was the most interesting thing you learned from this reading?

2) Williams et al., 2018 and Schynder et al., 2016: how does the current DSM-5 fall short in addressing racial trauma in its diagnostic criteria? (think: covert racism, overt racism, cumulative/intergenerational trauma and how those may or may not fit into Criterion A). How might our current treatments (which tend to be Eurocentric) fail in diagnosing, conceptualizing, and treating clients from diverse cultural backgrounds? Briefly describe your thoughts.
