1. Write at least five Business Rules for the Premiere Company. The business rules should be reasonable for the scenario and consistent with the sample data provided in the Excel file. Your subsequent ERD and table design should be reflective of (not violate) your business rules.

2. Draw an Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD) showing relationships and cardinalities among the entities. Please note that you should be able to spot five entities and four one-to-many relationships. Follow these design drawing specifications (a mash-up of the three formats as seen in Chapter 7 of your text):

Draw a rectangle for each entity (no rounded corners necessary) .

Put the name of the entity inside the rectangle. Do not put column names in the rectangles; those will be detailed in the Data Listing.

Draw a solid line between two entities if they have a relationship (skip Chen's diamond).

Include maximum cardinalities on every relationship line, in both directions. Use either the crow's foot notation or the UML style demonstrated in class. Minimum cardinalities are not required, but you may include them if you like.

Use a drawing program of your choice to create the diagram. You can use Microsoft Visio (free download from DreamSpark/Imagine), or Lucidchart, Gliffy or SmartDraw (all free), or any other method that allows rectangles and lines to be draw and connected.

Paste your diagram into your assignment document in the indicated spot.
