(a) Suppose 6 of them are white, and 3 of them are purple. If you line them up in a row, how many different arrangements can you get?

Note: WWWWWWPPP is one arrangement, WPWPWWWPW is another arrangement, and so on.

You do NOT want to actually list all possible arrangements - instead, use what you learned in class to calculate this.

(b) Now suppose 3 of them are white and 6 of them are purple. How many different arrangements can you get? Does this make sense?

(c) How many arrangements do you have for 1 white and 8 purple? (d) How many arrangements do you have for 0 white and 9 purple?
