10. Once the metal has been in the boiling water bath for at least 10 minutes, it is now time to transfer the hot metal from the boiling water into the calorimeter. Using tongs, quickly remove the metal from the boiling water and transfer it into the calorimeter. The transfer must be done quickly to minimize heat loss. Turn off the hot plate. 11.
