11 13 In the News... The Global South A Directions This activity will involve several steps - all of which you can do here in this Discussion Forum. Please read these steps carefully FIRST before you post. For this discussion, you must post before you can see your classmates' posts. The Global South's Prospects in a World of Great Powers 5. (5.5) The Global South's Future Step 2: For your Initial Post due by Thursday 11:59 PM PST: 1. Post a 3-5 paragraph (a minimum of 250 words) discussion post based on the readings by Thursday at 11:59 PM PST. This should be written in your own words. 2. Choose a current or recent event or example that illustrates an issue relevant to your reading this week about issues related to the Global South. Use and cite at least one quality news article or story that relates to your summary. How does the article explain a theme or themes from your section of Chapter 5? Offer your opinion, thoughts or insights as well. 3. Also post 2-3 original (not from the textbook) discussion questions about your reading for your classmates. Note: A discussion question is not just asking for things like a definition, but rather is asking questions such as: Why? How?, How does this relate to...? Explain your opinion about...
