2. Project background

Sexual assault is basically defined as inappropriate sexual behaviour that is used to harass someone. It is included unwanted touching, rape, and attempted rape (Reachout Australia 2020) the victim of the sexual assault faces adverse consequences and repercussion. For example, victim often depict self-isolation behaviour and get extreme depression (Wolfe, V 2007). According to Australian Bureau of Statistics 2018 one in three Australian women have experienced physical violence since the age of 15, and almost one in five have experienced sexual violence. Sexual assault or any other type of behaviour that inflicts harm on others in completely unacceptable in any culture, religion and society, It is the responsibility of each of us to take concrete steps in order to ensure that this assault stops (NSVRC2010).

3. Project purpose

Due to the growing statistics of sexual encounters over many years, by introducing an anti-force nail polish, we believe that this nail polish will make a statement in the market as well as playing a crucial role in reducing the numbers of drug-facilitated assault. This product works as an act of protection, as you apply the polish on your fingernail it will appear transparent and will only react once it makes direct contact with any substances, hence the nail polish will change in colour. Moreover, by adding drops, individuals will be able to check if the drink has been contaminated or not (La Vito, A 2018). Our strategic partner, Sukin Natural Skincare and Scout Cosmetics will be responsible for selling this product, as well as having Scout Cosmetics be our sole manufacturer of this polish. We have chosen to work alongside these two well-known companies as they align with our social responsibility objectives of being 100%vegan and animal cruelty free. The good thing about this product is that it is very affordable. It is safe to use and is suitable for all age groups. This solution will be extremely beneficial in reducing the number of sexual assaults that take place at parties and in college campuses. You will be able to feel a sense of relief and protection when being out with your friends or family as it acts like a second alarm warning. Moreover, our team consists of individuals who are dedicated and are completely committed to the cause.

We had decided to position ourselves within the beauty industry as nail polish works as both a beauty product and a prevention tool for predators.
