1-When considering the actual definitions of Technology and Media, have you ever thought about how much of the world is, or was created by, technology, that even the simplest of objects, such as a shovel, is a result of technological progress? In regards to Media, have you considered how much of what you do everyday is related to consumption of information, of various usefulness/relevance to your day? From the most banal of TikTok videos to the dodge/counter combo needed to defeat the midboss of your video game, to the instruction manual on how to fix your pool filter, each and every form of communication leaves a mark-do you think what you are consuming is valuable to you?

How about when we got to the section on different types of Media-is there truly a place for all forms of media described, or are some worth more then others? In the case of New Media, with the never-before capability to share information, news, and perspectives near instantaneously, allowing the public at large to see things that the other forms of media may not be able to/choose not to share-what do you think are the positives and/or negatives of it? Could this be linked to the Conflict Perspective as a way to bypass Gatekeeping, or just another avenue to the Power Elite influencing the masses?

Lastly, consider the Structural Functionalists and the Symbolic Interactionist's views on Media and Technology. For the Functionalists, did anything from Commercial, Entertainment, Social Norms, or Life-Changing elements stand out to you during the lecture-Agree/disagree on whether they really affect everyday life in the manner described? What about the Symbolic Interactionists-do you feel like you lean more towards the Neo-Luddite side of the scale, or more towards the Technophiles? If you do identify more with one side, do you understand why others may feel the opposite way/lean towards the side you don't identify with? Lastly, when it comes to social media, have you seen examples of people who base their opinions/like/dislikes on certain topics due popularity/follower count, regardless of other factors? If you are not involved with social media, consider the question in the context of someone who is heavily involved in technological progress, rather than social media followers/popularity.

2-Consider the concept of "planned obsolescence". What would be an argument in favor of it from the companies that practice it? What would be an argument against it from the consumer sides that purchase the products? Use examples to back up both sides of this concept.

3-Describe the concepts of the Knowledge Gap and E-Readiness, and how they contribute to the overall process of the Digital Divide. Make sure to explain what the Digital divide is in detail.
