2. (10pts) A house roof has #1 DFL dimension lumber roof rafters in the roof that span 13.25' from the sidewall to a ridge beam. The roof pitch is 8:12 and the rafters are 2'o-c. Assume that the roof sheathing holds the top edge of the rafter in line and the ridge beam and sidewall connections hold the ends of the rafter in line. The rafter supports a 30psf snow load and a 10psf dead load. The deflection limit will be L/180 for short term loads. Size the rafter to carry the snow and dead load. Hint: it is a beam-column and you need to calculate stresses based on the local coordinate system
