2) (33.3\% a little harder) A heat exchanger, operating at steady state, is used to heat an ideal gas. The ideal gas has a constant heat capacity, CP=5R, molecular weight of 100g/mol, flowrate of 1000mol/min, enters at T=100C and P=1.1 bar, and leaves at T=190C and P=1 bar. The heat is provided by steam that enters the heat exchanger's shell side as 50kg/min of saturated steam at 200C. Steam temperature and pressure remain constant in the shell side but a small portion of the steam condenses as heat is transferred to the ideal gas. There are no moving parts in either side of the heat exchanger. a) Determine the quality (vapor fraction) of the exiting liquid-vapor water mixture. Hint: will need steam tables b) Determine the rate at which entropy is generated in this heat exchanger. Hint: will need steam tables
