2) Share what interested you in taking this course and what you hope to get from taking the course. There have been college-wide discussions regarding concerns with grading in online courses. Students are earning grades of D, F, and WU- unofficially withdrawals which result in a 0.0 GPA for the course, in disproportionately higher numbers as compared to in- person courses. There are many theories as to the reason this is occurring and I wanted to engage the class in a discussion about these concerns. 3) How do you think students need to manage online coursework differently from in-person courses? What specific skills will be important for successfully completing online coursework? 4) What factors do you believe contribute to the disproportionately high number of D, F, and WU grades for online courses?
