2. The drag of a new sports car is to be predicted when it is going at a speed of 50mph at an air temperature of 25C. Engineers decide to build a 1/5 scale model to save expense before building a bigger version. The temperature in the wind tunnel is about 5C. Data: Density Air (25C)=1.184kg/m3 Viscosity Air (25C)=1.849105kg/ms Density Air (5C)=1.269kg/m3 Viscosity Air (5C)=1.754105kg/ms (a) Determine how fast the engineers should run the wind tunnel to achieve similarity between the model and actual car. (b) The engineers run the test at the velocity determined in part a). The resulting drag force on the model is measured to be 21.2lbf. Determine the drag force on the actual car going 50mph at 25C. Give the drag coefficient for the actual car going 50mph at 25C if the front area is 1.5m2. Is this a good drag coefficient
