1       With respect to cavitation problems, explain any TWO signs of cavitation problems at any pump station

2       A pump is fitted with a variable speed motor. At a speed of 1350 rpm, the pump delivers 0.125 m3/s of water. What speed of the pump would be required in order to increase the discharge to 0.235 m3/s?

3       A pump runs at a constant speed of 1800 rpm with an impeller diameter of 1.1 m. If a similar pump operating at the same speed is fitted with a 1.25 m diameter impeller, determine the percentage increase in the power required to drive the larger pump.
