a)

Suppose NADRA has five different sites at Peshawar, Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Islamabad. All these sites are handling their data manually. The administration of NADRA wants to store data of all the sites locally and as well as globally at the head office in Islamabad. In this situation the designer team needs to design a global conceptual schema (GCS) and after the generation of GCS they will generate local conceptual schemas for each site. In order to do this, which steps the designer team needs to follow to achieve this task.

b)

In distributed database systems two main concerns of deadlock handling are Transaction location and transaction control. After addressing these concerns deadlocks are handled through any of deadlock prevention, deadlock avoidance, deadlock detection and removal. How? Provide proper justification of your answer.
