(30) As part of the crystal sugar production process from sugar cane, raw sugar cane juice is passed into three evaporator units in series to remove the water component. The sugarcane juice containing 85% water is fed to the first evaporator at a rate of 10,000 lb/hr. It is assumed that each evaporator removes the water component with the same amount, the sugarcane juice concentrate that comes out of the last evaporator contains 40% water. Calculate: (a) Flow rate of the juice concentrate leaving the last evaporator (b) The amount of water removed from each evaporator (c) Concentration of water in the sugarcane juice feed entering the second evaporator.
