3.1Angie, who lives at Nerang in Queensland, owns a caravan but wants to dispose of it, as she is claustrophobic. The only person she can find who is interested in it is Bill who owns a houseboat that he wants to sell or trade. It is currently moored near Rockhampton in Queensland. Angie doesn't really want a houseboat either but can find no other takers for her caravan. However, Angie knows that her mother has always dreamed of holidays on a houseboat.

The caravan is worth significantly more than the houseboat, so Angie and Bill enter into a contract agreeing that, in consideration of Angie transferring her caravan to Bill, Bill will give $10 000 to Angie and transfer his houseboat to Angie's mother, Florence. When Florence hears about it on the day after the agreement is entered into, she is very excited and immediately writes a thank you note to Angie saying how happy she is to be getting the houseboat and looking forward to the day when Bill delivers it to Florence in accordance with Angie's agreement with Bill.

Bill pays Angie the $10 000 and she transfers her caravan to him. Six weeks later and before the houseboat has been transported to Nerang, Bill loses his licence for drink driving offences and tells Angie that he can't drive up to Rockhampton to get the houseboat. Angie tells Florence that she is too busy to pursue Bill about the houseboat.

Advise Florence on whether she can enforce Bill's obligation to transfer the houseboat to Florence contained in his contract with Angie.
